Petr Mrázek graduated from the Law School of Charles University in Prague. Afterwards, he participated in the UK CELS programme focused on international trade law and company law organised by the Queen Mary and Westfield College in London. At the same time, he also served a short-term attachment at the renowned international law firm, Freshfields. In his legal practice he 2 specializes in commercial law including international trade law and international transportation, distribution, agency, automotive industry, litigations including arbitration and insolvency as well as real estate which represents important part of his practice and other legal fields.
Petr Mrázek is involved in the International Distribution Institute Association (IDI) connecting leading legal experts in the area of business representation (agency), distribution and franchising from all over the world, as a specialist for the Czech Republic. In 2019 – 2023 he was acting in the Board of IDI as a representative of selected experts on distribution and agency from individual countries.
Petr Mrázek has represented the clients in number of disputes with values amounting to hundreds of millions CZK in front of civil courts as well as in arbitration, in the Czech Republic and abroad, including representation at the European Court of Justice. Petr also frequently acts as an arbitrator at the Arbitration Court attached to the Czech Chamber of Commerce and to the Agricultural Chamber of the Czech Republic, he is included in the list of the Swiss Arbitration Institute of Chambers of Commerce for international distribution disputes under the Swiss Rules, on the European Commission´s list of arbitrators for bilateral disputes under the EU’s trade agreements with third countries and on the list of arbitrators of the National Arbitration Court for Sport. and Petr is also a long term registered mediator.
As part of his educational and publishing activities Petr has experience teaching lectures on international commercial law at the College of Applied Law in Prague and he was an expert leader for the team of authors of the written management course “Legal issues in automotive industry” organized by the Institute for International Research. Petr also was an author of the Czech Republic chapter in the book Fundamentals of Franchising in Europe published by the American Bar Association in 2017 and a co-author of the publication Advocacy Law published by C. H. Beck in 2017. Since 2023 Petr serves also as a member of the Board of the renowned registered association Karlovarské právnické dny (Karlsbader Juristentage).
Petr Mrázek is actively involved in the Czech Bar Association as a Deputy Regional Representative of the Czech Bar Association for Prague, and is also a member of the Commission for the Bar exams in the field of Commercial law.
